Job summary

Designco in Delhi is seeking an Architectural Draughtsman/Architectural designer to prepare plans, elevations, sections and layouts, assist design development, and maintain construction drawings. You will coordinate with structural, MEP and other consultants and visit sites to monitor implementation.

Strong knowledge of architectural planning, working drawings, and detailing is required. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; SketchUp or Revit is a plus.

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details and architectural layouts.
• Assist senior architects in design development and design coordination.
• Prepare and maintain construction drawings, detail drawings and drawing sets.
• Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with approved designs.
• Coordinate architectural requirements with structural, MEP and other consultants.
• Visit project sites periodically to understand site conditions and monitor design implementation.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions and coordinate necessary corrections.
• Assist in preparing BOQ, material specifications, schedules and design documentation where required.
• Coordinate with vendors, consultants and execution teams for design-related requirements.
• Ensure timely revision and circulation of drawings based on project requirements.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, approvals and project documentation.
• Assist in material selection, finishes and detailing as per approved design intent.
• Participate in design discussions, coordination meetings and project review meetings.
• Ensure that drawings and design outputs meet required quality, functionality, aesthetics and technical standards.
• Support the team in resolving architectural and detailing-related issues during execution.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of architectural planning and design principles.
• Good understanding of working drawings and construction detailing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, 3D modelling or other design software will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of architectural materials, finishes and construction techniques.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple drawings and tasks within timelines.
• Good understanding of building regulations, standards and basic architectural codes.
