Purpose

The CEEW’s sustainable water programme informs policy-making for thesustainable development of waterresources and their effective management through research in the areas of:mainstreaming circular economy in used water management through planning for treated used water reuse; enabling water security under changing climate through developingpathways for resilient water systems; assessing policy coherence for inclusive water and allied resources governance; and water accounting based planning.

For its sustainable water programme, CEEW seeks to hire a ProgrammeAssociate having a good understanding of India’s water sector. An idealcandidate should have a thorough understanding of urban water management issuesand challenges, especially considering the climate variability and change, andthe current policy discourse (supply and demand management, and used watertreatment, recycling, and reuse) for addressing them. The candidate should haveprior experience working in the used water management and circular economysectors.

Along with a policy research orientation, the candidate should possess strong data analysis skills and support the organisation in accessing various existing secondary data sets, such as those from the Census of India, Urban Local Bodies, Central and StatePollution Control Boards, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Directorate ofEconomics and Statistics, Ministry of Jal Shakti, India WRIS or any other datasets available in the public domain. The candidate should have proficiency inusing statistical tools. Hands-on experience with geo-spatial tools andexperience of working in projects involving the engagement of urban local bodieswill be desirable.
