Reporting to: Programme Lead, Clean Air
Purpose:
The Clean Air team at CEEW aims to strengthen air quality management in India’snon-attainment cities by
- 1) Pluggingcritical data and information gaps,
- 2) Buildingtechnical and enforcement capacity of institutions, and
- 3) Equippingcitizens to transform them into agents of change.
The team seeksto hire a dedicated researcher to lead the design and analysis of behaviouralinterventions across air quality, circular economy and energy access domains.The candidate will undertake relevant research, identify and consultstakeholders, and conduct feasibility assessments. The candidate will also haveto conceptualise, design and conduct novel behavioural studies that further themission of the air quality and energy access teams within project mandates. Therole offers an excellent opportunity to work with stakeholders in governmentand civil society to ideate and implement behavioural solutions for clean airand modern energy access. While the role is based in Delhi, the candidateshould be open to travelling frequently as and when needed.
Job duties and accountability
Researchand programme assistance
- Leadconceptualisation of behavioural interventions across clean air verticals.
- Develop partnershipswith relevant behavioural science organisations to advance CEEW’s researchobjectives.
- Conduct in-depthliterature review on key behavioural science topics as per programme needs.
- Keep updated withrecent academic and grey literature on an ongoing basis to keep the teamupdated on latest findings and debates in behavioural sciences.
- Developing detailedproject proposals and apply for funding opportunities.
- Collaborate withinterdisciplinary teams to understand team needs, conceptualise interventionsaddressing the need, and assess effectiveness of interventions
- To provide researchcontent for the organisation's web pages, blogs, issue briefs, etc.
- To help team membersbuild capacity in working with big data sets and behaviour change.
- To engage withrelevant stakeholders from industries, policy experts, and academicians
- To participate inrelevant conferences, workshops, training programmes for a comprehensiveunderstanding of air quality management in India and globally.
Shortlisting Criteria
- Education and experience
- Masters/PhD in behavioural science, public policy, or arelated field.
- Subject matterexpertise in behavioural sciences including diagnosis methods, goodunderstanding of applied behaviour change frameworks and designing andevaluating trials.
- Awareness aboutmajor behavioural interventions in the development/air quality/ solid wastemanagement, energy access space.
- Prior experience in design and/or implementation and/orassessment of behavioural interventions.
- 3-6 years ofexperience working in a behavioural science team, preferably in solving policyrelevant societal challenges.
- Strong analytic skills including qualitative andquantitative research skills
- Ability to handle and find behavioural insights fromexisting large datasets
- Good oral and written communication skills
