TheIndustrial Sustainability (IS) team aims to support India’s low carbon growthaspirations by advancing the uptake of green energy and resource efficiencypractices. The IS team is working on several different initiatives that includeenergy transitions in the oil and gas sector, an assessment of alternativefuels like green hydrogen and biofuels uptake across difficult-to-decarbonisesectors in industry and mobility applications, developing optimaldecarbonisation trajectory for the steel and cement sector, assessing theprospects on carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) in India andcharacterising the industrial sector value chains to analyse various aspectssuch as carbon footprint, financial strength, resource requirements, and jobssupported.
TheIS team seeks to hire a highly committed candidate to build and expand ourprogramme in the above mentioned sectors as well as to support governmentengagements. The candidate should be flexible to work on multiple projects inparallel depending on the priorities of the team. This role demands highquality research to provide direction, support, and insights to the policyplanners and industry captains towards decarbonisation options. The candidateshould have an active and self-directed interest towards the assessment andproduction of alternative fuels including green hydrogen and derivatives,biofuels, CCUS, industrial decarbonisation and other related sectors. She/heshould be able to perform resource assessments, material-energy balance,techno-economic analysis, emissions analysis, scenario comparisons, etc. Thecandidate should be willing to collaborate with other researchers in therespective domain and independently drive collaboration with internationalexperts on the topic. Further, the candidate should have good oral and writtencommunication skills and have the capability to independently drive governmentengagements, draft briefing notes and policy documents.
