Job summary

Purpose

CEEW seeks to hire a consultant with goodprogramming and data analysis skills to join the Clean Air team. The role willfurther help CEEW's Clean Air team raise the bar. The role primarily involvesanalysing data from satellite-borne sensors, air quality models,regulatory-grade monitoring, etc and building statistical models to quantifythe impact of air quality management interventions on improving air quality.The role will also require the candidate to create web-based tools that analysethe above data and provide actionable insights.

The candidate is expected to have good dataanalysis and presentation skills.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individualshould be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as and whennecessary.

Job duties and accountabilities
Primary Responsibilities
Research
  • Write software programs to fetch and analyse airquality and data from diverse sources.
  • Analyse data via statistical and machinelearning models and build tools for the same.
  • Perform statistical bias correction of airquality forecasts.
  • Generate high-quality research reports, policybriefs and publications in leading peer-reviewed journals. Generate otherknowledge products such as blogs, policy briefs, etc., at regular intervals.
  • Support effective outreach of research outputsthrough coordination with the outreach team and engagement with a broadernetwork of stakeholders and concerned policymakers.
  • Participate in relevant conferences, workshops,and training programmes for a comprehensive understanding of developmentsrelevant to the air quality sector.
Selection Criteria
Qualification

Bachelor's/Master'sdegree in Science, Engineering or related fields.

Workexperience
  • 0-1 years of experience.
  • Ability to code proficiently in a programminglanguage, preferably Python.
  • Prior experience in a programming/data sciencerole.
  • Ability to present the work in a lucid manner.
  • Creative thinker with demonstrated success inimplementing out-of-the-box content ideas.
  • Demonstrated abilities to manage multiplepriorities, projects and internal/external resources in a fast-pacedenvironment, while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Strong drive and initiative, a self-starter.
  • Experience with GIS software.
  • Prior experience in backend development
