Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Biochar production processes

Position Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Agriculture, preferably in: Soil Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Fire and Combustion Engineering
• Carbon assessment and certification DMRV systems
• Project registration and carbon credit assessment
• Experience working with farmers, FPOs, and rural communities
• Proven ability in training, mobilization, and capacity building
• Understanding of entrepreneurship development in agri-based or climate enterprises
• The candidate should have knowledge/understanding/ working with certification agencies’ like Gold standard, ICVCM, and Verra
• Basic working knowledge of the Punjabi language is preferred

Job Description:

The Programme Lead will be responsible for planning, implementing, and scaling biochar production systems, as well as managing carbon certification processes. The role requires technical expertise in biochar production, carbon assessment, and certification frameworks, along with strong engagement with farmers, FPOs, and community institutions. Key responsibilities include the following:

• Lead biochar production initiatives, focusing on process efficiency and quality assurance
• Manage carbon assessment, certification, and DMRV (Data, Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) processes.
• Support project registration and carbon credit estimation under relevant standards
• Build the capacities of farmers, FPOs, and community groups through training and mobilization
• Promote farmer-led entrepreneurship and sustainable business models
• Coordinate with certification agencies, technical partners, and field teams
