Job summary

NetApp India is seeking a motivated NetApp Consultant to join our Cloud and Platform Customers for Storage Professional Services. The resource will work on NetApp Storage and Cloud products, implementing best practices, handling incidents, and delivering designs and installations.

The role involves Level 3 infrastructure improvements, automation, and strong collaboration with customers and internal teams in Bengaluru, with a hybrid work setup described by NetApp.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6+ years with a master’s/PhD.
• Strong NetApp Storage knowledge including CDOT, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Experience with automation and scripting, preferably PowerShell or Python.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 infra improvements, designs, new installations and implementations with best practices on NetApp Storage and Cloud.
• Respond to incidents, perform problem management and ensure service continuity.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to deploy and optimize storage solutions.

Motivated NetApp Consultant to join our Cloud and Platform Customers for the smooth functioning of Storage Professional Services. The resource will provide Level 3 Infrastructure Improvements, Designs, New Installations, and implementations with best practices, predominantly working on NetApp Storage and Cloud products and services, support to our customers by responding to Incidents and requests, Problem Management Experience in supporting a varied clientele and a strong understanding of all NetApp storage-based technologies.

Job Requirements

• Experienced in NetApp Storage (Deploying and administering NetApp Storage - CDOT, Troubleshooting Performance Issues, performing firmware and operating system upgrades, using storage management tools - OnCommand Unified Manager/ Performance Manager/ Insight, Managing backup integration with NetApp technologies);
• Proficient understanding of NetApp Storage concepts, related management tools and related Storage technologies (Snapshots, controller failover, provisioning, deduplication, cloning, SnapMirror) including monitoring and troubleshooting, administration, replication technologies, security hardening and performance tuning.
• Experience in other NetApp storage technologies like Storage grid, E-Series, CVO, CVS, Cloud Backup, Cloud Secure, Cloud Sync, Cloud Datasense & Amazon FSx for ONTAP would be highly regarded.
• Experience with automation tools such as NetApp Workflow Automation.
• Good to have writing basic PowerShell/Python scripts would be beneficial.
• A thorough understanding of other components in the infrastructure stack - compute, virtualization and networks: (NetApp/Cisco Flex pod architecture, Cisco UCS platform, IBM Blade Center, System X, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications, Commvault);
• Strong understanding of Storage protocols and technologies (CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel switching and networks);
• Knowledge in ITIL methodologies: change, incident, problem and configuration management;
• Understanding of outsourcing/managed service and Cloud industry;
• ITIL Fundamentals certification (desirable);
• Working knowledge of monitoring platforms, WANs, SANs, backup and disaster recovery platforms;
• Windows server and related Microsoft technologies including monitoring and troubleshooting, administration, replication technologies, security hardening and performance, would be advantageous.
• Experience in Linux System Administration
• Good to have understanding of Dockers, Jenkins, Kubernetes
• Strong customer communication and documentation skills;
• Built and maintained strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
• Infrastructure deployment and disaster recovery testing.
• Positive, proactive, team-orientated attitude with a flexible and innovative approach to work;

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, and preferably 10 years; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant professional experience; or equivalent combination of professional education/training and applicable work experience.
