Job summary

Envipro Engineering Pvt. Ltd. seeks a Fabrication Supervisor to oversee shop-floor fabrication activities in the manufacturing unit. You will allocate work to fabricators, welders, fitters and helpers, ensuring alignment with drawings and quality standards.

The role requires a Diploma or BE in Mechanical/Production Engineering with 4–6 years in industrial fabrication. Strong leadership and welding knowledge are essential for safe, efficient production.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent.
• 4–6 years in industrial fabrication or heavy engineering workshops.
• Knowledge of fabrication drawings and welding processes (MIG/TIG/ARC).

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day fabrication activities in the workshop as per production schedules.
• Allocate work to fabricators, welders, fitters, helpers and other shop floor workers.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
• Ensure fabrication work is carried out as per approved drawings, dimensions and quality standards.
• Monitor cutting, bending, rolling, fit-up, welding, grinding and assembly activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, purchase, quality and production departments for smooth execution of work.
• Monitor daily production progress and ensure completion within planned schedule.
• Check dimensional accuracy, welding quality and overall workmanship during fabrication.
• Ensure availability of raw materials and consumables required for fabrication activities.

Job Responsibilities

1. Supervise day-to-day fabrication activities in the workshop as per production schedules.
2. Allocate work to fabricators, welders, fitters, helpers and other shop floor workers.
3. Read and understand engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
4. Ensure fabrication work is carried out as per approved drawings, dimensions and quality standards.
5. Monitor cutting, bending, rolling, fit-up, welding, grinding and assembly activities.
6. Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machinery, tools and materials.
7. Coordinate with the engineering, purchase, quality and production departments for smooth execution of work.
8. Monitor daily production progress and ensure completion of jobs within the planned schedule.
9. Check dimensional accuracy, welding quality and overall workmanship during fabrication.
10. Ensure availability of raw materials and consumables required for fabrication activities.
11. Minimize material wastage, rework and production delays.
12. Maintain daily production reports, manpower records and job progress updates.
13. Ensure proper housekeeping, workplace safety and use of PPE by all workers.
14. Coordinate with the quality team for stage inspections and final inspection of fabricated equipment.
15. Ensure timely completion of fabrication work and readiness of equipment for painting and dispatch.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Production Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience: 4–6 years in industrial fabrication or heavy engineering workshops.
• Good knowledge of fabrication drawings, welding processes and manufacturing methods.
• Experience in fabrication of industrial equipment such as bag filters, dust collectors, scrubbers, tanks, ducts, hoppers and structural steel.
• Ability to handle shop floor manpower and multiple fabrication jobs simultaneously.
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG and ARC welding processes.
• Good understanding of dimensional inspection, quality requirements and shop floor safety.
• Strong leadership, planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
