Job summary

Propel Industries in Tamil Nadu seeks a Production Planning professional to prepare and release production plans and schedules based on MRP requirements, customer demand, and capacity. You will ensure orders convert to production orders in line with start dates and maintain 100% material availability.

You will collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, PPC, Purchase and Stores to meet deadlines, monitor order ageing, WIP, and plan vs actual performance, and drive recovery plans when

Responsibilities

• Prepare and release production plans and schedules based on MRP requirements, customer demand, and production capacity.
• Ensure planned orders are converted into production orders in line with the MRP basic start date.
• Review and ensure 100% material availability of RM, OSP, Bought-Out, and SFG components before releasing production orders.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete manufacturing activities within the MRP basic finish date.
• Monitor production order ageing, WIP, and pending orders and drive actions for timely closure.
• Identify and resolve production constraints related to material shortages, machine capacity, manpower, tooling, drawings, and process availability.
• Prepare daily/weekly production schedules and track plan vs. actual performance.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Stores teams for timely availability of critical materials and components.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and PPC teams to address bottlenecks and improve schedule adherence.
• Monitor capacity loading and resource utilization across manufacturing lines.
• Prioritize production orders based on customer commitments, criticality, and material availability.
• Maintain and analyze production planning MIS, ageing reports, WIP reports, and schedule adherence.
• Escalate critical deviations and develop recovery plans to achieve committed delivery dates.
• Support inventory reduction, WIP control, lead-time reduction, and working-capital improvement initiatives.
• Ensure proper master data and planning parameters are maintained in the ERP/MRP system.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and process optimization.
