Job summary

CIEL HR is recruiting for a Jr. / Sr. Production Officer to operate production equipment at our Dahej, Gujarat site. The role requires following instructions, coordinating with maintenance and planning teams, and ensuring safe, efficient site operations.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering or ITI AOCP with 5 to 15 years of experience and is comfortable with rotational shifts. Transportation and canteen facilities are provided as part of the benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma Chemical or ITI AOCP required.
• 5–15 years of production/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts and ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Follow written and verbal instructions to operate equipment and site services safely.
• Identify ideas to improve safety and efficiency and participate in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, planning and logistics teams.
• Maintain health and safety standards and follow site SHE procedures and risk assessments.
• Make routine decisions on plant operations and follow escalation for non-routine issues.
• Plan and organise work and materials per shift and ensure smooth handovers.
• Train and coach new recruits on their roles.
• Perform limited maintenance tasks or prep equipment for maintenance activities.
• Carry out limited analytical testing as required by site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• 1. To routinely follow written and verbal instructions in order to operate the equipment, site services & vehicle loading/unloading safely and efficiently. The detailed scope of role may vary between sites.
• 2. To identify and explain ideas for safety and efficiency improvements in area of work and to be members of multi disciplinary teams to prioritise & implement improvements.
• 3. To effectively and accurately communicate with people in the production team and other functions on site (e.g. maintenance, planning & logistics). This will be mainly verbal, e-mail and written.
• 4. To be accountable for own health and safety and for those around them who could be affected by their actions. To ensure that safe methods of work are maintained and site specific SHE standards are adhered to, this will include the relevant risk identification and assessment, permitry compliance and incident reporting etc. on each site. To understand the consequences of not paying attention to detail and not following instructions fully.
• 5. To make routine decisions on plant and site service operations following procedures. Non routine decisions are usually made with referral to their superior.
• 6. To effectively plan and organise work and materials on own shift and prepare for oncoming shift in area of responsibility to achieve the site logistics and production plans. This includes the safe and effective handovers between shift teams.
• 7. To train and coach new recruits in their roles.
• 8. To carry out limited maintenance tasks (the level of maintenance activity is site specific) OR follow written and verbal instructions from Shift Team, to prepare the plant(s) or the equipment for mainteneance activity.
• 9. To carry out limited analytical testing (the level of analytical activity is site specific).
