Job Summary

The Production Material Controller is a crucial role responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient flow of materials to support production schedules. This individual will manage inventory levels, coordinate with suppliers and production teams, and proactively address material shortages or discrepancies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Material Planning and Control: Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, components, and work‑in‑progress to support production plans. Generate and analyze MRP reports, issue purchase requisitions, track material flow, and collaborate with suppliers.
• Production Support: Collaborate with production planning and shop‑floor personnel to understand production schedules and material requirements. Proactively identify and resolve material shortages or discrepancies, expedite critical materials, and coordinate transfers.
• Inventory Management: Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks, analyze inventory data, manage discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and maintain accurate ERP records.
• Supplier Coordination: Communicate with suppliers to track order status, resolve delivery issues, ensure quality, monitor performance, and coordinate returns.
• Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, material usage, and production performance. Identify and recommend process improvements and prepare reports for management.
• Documentation and Compliance: Ensure accurate documentation, adhere to company policies, and maintain compliance for material handling and inventory control.
