Job summary

Sensata Technologies in Chennai, India seeks a Material Planner and Production Scheduler to drive on-time delivery, optimize customer lead times and align with S&OP processes. You will plan production, manage raw materials, create work orders, and track KPI performance using ERP systems.

Collaborating with procurement, production and customer service, you will ensure inventory targets and compliant processes while supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Leads the planning & scheduling process of raw materials for production.
• Monitors and analyzes supplier delivery performance against materials schedule.
• Create work orders, review messages, expedite and follow up production priorities and regular schedules.
• Leads the coordination of the internal processing and movement of materials from stores to the production line to meet manufacturing schedule requirements.
• Organizes / tracks of shipments for dispatch from the supply base to ensure on time delivery at the plant.
• Maintains an optimum level of finished product inventory, ensuring the level of service required by the client.
• Complies with Sarbox controls throughout the organization to ensure compliance and escalates/addresses any non-conformities.

Job Description:

The Material Planner and Production Scheduler works on the holistic development and implementation of a supply chain that will produce sustained on time delivery performance, targeted customer lead time breakthroughs and optimized financial results. The Production Planner will ensure the Sales and Operations Planning processes efficiently achieve customer service levels.

General Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning production for manufacturing lines. Reviews and maintains manufacturing routings. Generates production plans and shop orders
• Analyzes requirements and plans for capacity based on forecast as well as what if scenarios
• Investigates and reports on potential production problems
• Coordinates with production supervisors and purchasing, communicates with customer service to meet customer needs
• Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation
• Utilizes ERP system to develop, track and maintain key metrics to monitor production performance. Reports KPIs to site management
• Set finished good inventory goals, review new inventory requirements, and ensure compliance to existing inventory models

Is responsible for creating work orders, expediting and following up on production priorities, as well as creating, managing and strictly following regular schedules They will work alongside various upper management and internal personnel to create efficient plans for miscellaneous projects and overall work.
