Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Production Manager for the Transformers unit, based at the Dry factory in Savli, Gujarat.

The role oversees production, ensures efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness, and leads a diverse team to drive operational excellence in the energy sector. The candidate should have a degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field with 10–15 years of production management experience, strong lean and quality control knowledge, and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 10–15 years of production management experience.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean methodologies, and quality control standards.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate production teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyze operational data, KPIs, and financial metrics to drive decision-making.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate with departments, suppliers, and senior management.
• Proven track record of implementing capacity ramp up with focus on skills, manpower & machine capacity planning & maximization
• Proficient in English language in written & verbal.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement capacity plans to align production with business goals and optimize resource use.
• Drive operational performance by setting goals, tracking KPIs, and embedding lean manufacturing principles.
• Adjust production schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines, coordinating resources for seamless operations.
• Manage the production budget, monitoring costs, and identifying opportunities for efficiency and savings.
• Oversee the allocation of materials, equipment, and workforce to maximize productivity and reduce waste.
• Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and internal quality requirements.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, lower costs, and reduce waste.
• Foster a safety-first culture by enforcing HSE standards, conducting inspections, and promoting safe work practices.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth.
