Job summary

Tirumala Oil is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations for its edible oil FMCG products. The role covers oil extraction/refining, filtration, blending, and packaging, with emphasis on yield optimization, downtime reduction, and GMP/HACCP compliance.

The ideal candidate will lead multi‑shift operations, coordinate with maintenance, and ensure quality and hygienic standards in line with FSSAI and packaging requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of edible oil extraction, refining, and packaging processes.
• Experience managing plant workforce and multi-shift productivity.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance (FSSAI, GMP/HACCP) in FMCG.
• Ability to plan maintenance and ensure plant reliability.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control day-to-day production across all plant sections.
• Prepare and implement production plans to meet output, yield, and quality targets.
• Monitor line efficiency, wastage, and utility consumption for optimization.
• Coordinate with engineering for preventive maintenance and reliability.

• Manage manpower, shifts, and productivity across multi-shift operations.
• Coordinate with procurement to align raw material availability with scheduling.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Tirumala Oil is looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations for its edible oil FMCG products, covering oil extraction/refining, filtration, blending, and packaging. The role requires strong technical knowledge of edible oil processing, hands‑on plant management experience, and the ability to maximize yield, minimize downtime, and ensure safe, hygienic, and compliant operations that meet FMCG quality and packaging standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, supervise, and control day‑to‑day production operations across all sections of the plant (seed cleaning, extraction/crushing, refining, filtration, blending, and packing lines).
• Prepare and implement the production plan to achieve targeted output, oil yield, and quality parameters in line with demand and dispatch schedules.
• Monitor and optimize key production metrics including extraction/refining yield, line efficiency, wastage, and utility (power, steam) consumption.
• Coordinate closely with the engineering/maintenance team to plan preventive maintenance, minimize breakdowns, and ensure reliability of extraction, refining, and packing machinery.
• Ensure adherence to FSSAI, quality, and hygiene standards for edible oil products and packaging materials, in coordination with the quality control laboratory.
• Implement and monitor food‑safety protocols, statutory compliance (Factories Act, FSSAI, Legal Metrology, Pollution Control), and good manufacturing practices (GMP/HACCP) across the plant.
• Plan and manage manpower deployment, shift schedules, and workforce productivity for smooth multi‑shift plant operations.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to align production schedules with availability of raw materials (oilseeds/crude oil) and packaging consumables.
• Control production costs, monitor raw material and packaging consumption, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production records, batch records, MIS reports, and daily/weekly performance reports for management review.
• Coordinate with the sales & marketing team to align production output and stock availability (SKUs, pack sizes) with dispatch and sales commitments.
• Drive continuous improvement, new SKU/pack-size trials, and plant upgradation initiatives to support brand and product line growth.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Strong technical knowledge of edible oil extraction, refining, and packaging processes and machinery.
• Proven ability to manage plant workforce and drive productivity across multiple shifts.
• Sound understanding of statutory and regulatory compliance applicable to FMCG/edible oil units (FSSAI, Factories Act, Legal Metrology, Pollution Control).
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and crisis‑management skills for plant breakdowns and process deviations.
• Good communication skills in English, Hindi, and Telugu.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with production ERP systems.
• Budgeting, cost control, and resource planning skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts and be available on‑site as required by production schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.Tech/B.E. in Food Technology, Oil Technology, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (Diploma with relevant certification also considered).
• Certification/training in edible oil technology or food processing preferred.
• Prior experience as Production Manager, Deputy Production Manager, or Shift In‑Charge in an edible oil / FMCG manufacturing unit is highly desirable.
