Job summary

The Sleep Company is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead shop-floor operations at our Bangalore facility. You will drive end-to-end manufacturing processes, ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety norms are met in a fast-growing environment.

You will manage people, machines and materials, with a focus on continuous improvement, waste reduction and on-time delivery across multiple lines and shifts.

Qualifications

• End-to-end management of the manufacturing floor ensuring targets, quality and safety.
• Coordinate production planning, material flow and line efficiency.
• Lead shift teams and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily/weekly/monthly production to meet demand forecasts.
• Ensure uptime and efficiency of foam cutting, molding, stitching, packing lines.
• Enforce SOPs, quality specs and root-cause analysis for defects.
• Supervise line supervisors, operators and floor staff across shifts.
• Coordinate with stores and procurement for material availability.
• Maintain 5S, safety standards and compliance with regulations.
• Prepare daily/weekly production reports and metrics for leadership.

As the company scales manufacturing to meet growing demand, we're looking for a hands-on Production Manager to lead shop-floor operations at our Bangalore facility.

Role Summary

The Production Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of the manufacturing floor ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety norms are consistently met. This role requires a strong operational leader who can manage people, machines, and materials efficiently while driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Execution - Plan and schedule daily/weekly/monthly production in line with sales and demand forecasts - Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials to meet output targets - Monitor production KPIs (output, downtime, wastage, efficiency) and take corrective action
• Quality Control - Ensure adherence to quality standards (SOPs, SmartGRID/foam quality specs, stitching, finishing) at every stage of production - Coordinate with the QA/QC team to minimize rejections and rework - Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues
• Team & Shop Floor Management - Supervise line supervisors, machine operators, and workers across shifts - Allocate manpower efficiently and manage shift schedules - Train and upskill floor staff on processes, machine handling, and safety practices - Manage performance, discipline, and productivity of the production workforce
• Machine & Process Management - Ensure machines (foam cutting, molding, stitching, packing lines, etc.) are running at optimal efficiency - Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive maintenance and quick breakdown resolution - Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and cost
• Inventory & Material Coordination - Coordinate with stores/procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials (foam, fabric, components) - Minimize material wastage and ensure proper inventory control on the floor
• Safety & Compliance - Enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment - Ensure compliance with statutory/labour regulations applicable to the manufacturing unit - Maintain 5S/housekeeping standards on the shop floor
• Reporting - Prepare and present daily/weekly production reports, efficiency metrics, and downtime analysis to plant leadership - Maintain accurate production and quality documentation/records
