Job summary

Amor Management Consultants in Bangalore seeks a Production Manager with cold forging experience to plan, coordinate, and oversee end-to-end production. The role focuses on meeting targets while ensuring quality, safety, and delivery, leveraging lean initiatives.

You will manage shift teams, monitor OEE, drive cost reduction, and collaborate with Tool Room, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, and Purchase. A strong background in IATF/ISO standards and ERP systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Plan production schedules based on customer requirements and dispatch plans.
• Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and improve machine productivity.
• Lead and supervise production teams, shift engineers, supervisors, and operators.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and minimize rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
• Coordinate with Tool Room, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, and Purchase departments for smooth production.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Poka-Yoke, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Analyze production losses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive cost reduction and productivity improvement projects.

Job Description:

The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing end-to-end production activities in the cold forging shop. The role involves ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, cost efficiency, safety, and delivery schedules. The candidate should possess strong expertise in cold forging processes, machine utilization, manpower management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production operations in the cold forging department.
• Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Plan production schedules based on customer requirements and dispatch plans.
• Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and improve machine productivity.
• Optimize cycle time, reduce downtime, and improve machine utilization.
• Lead and supervise production teams, shift engineers, supervisors, and operators.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and minimize rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
• Coordinate with Tool Room, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, and Purchase departments for smooth production.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Poka-Yoke, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Analyze production losses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, raw materials, and consumables.
• Maintain production reports, MIS, and KPI dashboards.
• Drive cost reduction and productivity improvement projects.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and statutory compliance.
• Support new product development (NPD), trial production, and process validation.
• Conduct employee training and skill development programs.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Cold Forging processes (Multi-Station Headers, Bolt Makers, Nut Formers, Part Formers).
• Experience in production planning and shop floor management.
• Knowledge of forging dies, tooling, die life improvement, and tool change management.
• Understanding of heat treatment, thread rolling, secondary machining, and surface finishing.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.
• Knowledge of OEE, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP/SAP and MS Excel.
