Job summary

WerklyConsulting is seeking an experienced Production & Operations Manager to lead copper rod, wire, and cable manufacturing. The role focuses on scheduling, resource optimization, and cross-functional coordination to meet targets.

You will drive lean initiatives, oversee CCR lines and extrusion processes, and ensure BIS/ISO compliance while managing a skilled team on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical/metallurgical engineering.
• 12–15 years of copper rod/wire/cable manufacturing experience.
• Strong knowledge of CCR lines and extrusion processes.
• Experience in plant operations and manpower management.
• Familiarity with BIS/ISO standards and lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Oversee copper rod manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ensure smooth workflow across departments and minimize downtime.
• Submit daily production reports and monthly performance analyses.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Stores, Quality, and Sales teams.
• Lead and develop production engineers, supervisors, and operators.
• Maintain safety compliance and discipline on the shop floor.

Job description

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Ensure optimal utilization of machinery, manpower, and materials.
• Monitor production output and take corrective actions to meet targets.

Process & Operations Management

• Oversee copper rod manufacturing (CCR/rolling mill), wire drawing, annealing, bunching, stranding, extrusion, and cable manufacturing processes.
• Ensure smooth workflow across departments.
• Minimize downtime and improve productivity.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure adherence to BIS/ISO and customer specifications.
• Coordinate with Quality team for inspections and testing.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor production costs, wastage, and rework.
• Improve yield and reduce scrap.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices.

Team Management

• Supervise production engineers, supervisors, and operators.
• Conduct training and performance reviews.
• Maintain discipline and workforce motivation.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety standards and statutory requirements.
• Promote safe working culture on shop floor.

Reporting

• Submit daily production reports and monthly performance analysis to Management.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Stores, Quality, and Sales teams.
