About Perceptyne

Perceptyne is a deep-tech robotics startup building AI-powered semi-humanoid robots for automating dexterous and intelligent tasks on industrial shopfloors. These robots can be used in areas like electronics product assembly, automotive assembly lines, warehouse operations, food preparation, etc. We are building technology that will push the boundary of robotics as we know it today!

How is it like to work at Perceptyne?
  • Having experience while not losing a first principles approach.
  • Having a large vision while not losing attention to detail.
  • Working on disruptive tech while hitting the market ASAP.
Role Overview

The Production Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the production processes (from setup through operation to delivery) are efficient, cost-effective, high-quality and safe. The role involves designing, implementing and refining manufacturing systems, ensuring timely output, maintaining quality standards, reducing waste, and driving continuous improvement in all aspects of production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and maintain production processes, procedures and standard work instructions that ensure consistent, efficient output. Supervise manufacturing and assembly operations on a daily basis.
  • Plan and manage production at both in‑house and external manufacturing vendor sites.
  • Work closely with quality control to address non‑conformities.
  • Coordinate with supply chain team to get raw materials, standard items and tools on time.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams for production handoff.
  • Monitor production operations to achieve targets for throughput, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Analyze process performance data (cycle times, downtime, scrap/rework, yield, utilization) and optimize manufacturing process to reduce costs while meeting quality.
  • Lead root cause analyses when production issues (quality defects, breakdowns, delays) occur and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Introduce and drive lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g., value‑stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, SMED), waste reduction, process standardization and optimization of resources.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams (engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, operations) to integrate new products or process changes into production.
  • Ensure manufacturing equipment is selected correctly, maintained appropriately, and operated safely to support production goals.
  • Prepare and maintain production documentation: bills of materials (BOMs) for production, route cards, work instructions, standard operating procedures, capacity planning, layout changes as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), quality management system (ISO, other standards as applicable) and company policies.
  • Supervise, train and coach production staff/operators on process changes, quality standards, safe operations and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Essential:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
    • Experience (typically 4‑8 years) in a production/manufacturing environment with hands‑on exposure to process engineering, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
    • Strong analytical skills: ability to work with production / process data, interpret metrics, identify root causes and propose improvements.
    • Solid knowledge of manufacturing systems, equipment, process flow, tooling, layout design, and CAM software.
    • Excellent knowledge of CNC machining, aluminum casting, sheet metal manufacturing, plastic injection molding, and surface treatment methods etc.
    • Good understanding of quality control concepts, lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
    • Familiarity with ISO standards.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—able to work with shop floor personnel, engineers, planners and management.
    • Proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving ability, able to work under pressure and drive improvements.
  • Desirable / Plus Points:
    • Experience or certification in Lean / Six Sigma (Green Belt / Black Belt).
    • Experience with manufacturing software / ERP (e.g., SAP, MES systems), production planning tools, data analytics tools.
    • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, IoT in manufacturing.
    • Prior experience in new product introduction (NPI) or process launch.
    • Knowledge of export manufacturing, compliance with standards (ISO, IATF 16949, etc) if relevant to your business.
