Job summary

Valmet in Pune seeks a Production Engineer/Coordinator to lead shop floor production activities, plan shifts, and coordinate fabric filter cloth manufacturing. You will monitor processes, drive continuous improvement, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The role requires 6–8 years in manufacturing with a mechanical or textile background. Proficiency in SAP PP, ERP reporting, and Lean methodologies is essential to optimize productivity and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Textile Engineering.
• Experience in production planning and shop floor management.
• Knowledge of industrial sewing machine operations and related processes.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret basic GD&T.
• Experience with SAP PP/ERP for production transactions and reporting.
• Understanding of Lean and continuous improvement principles.
• Familiarity with HSE and Quality Management Systems.
• Strong MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day production operations to meet plans and KPIs.
• Monitor processes and equipment to minimize downtime and defects.
• Plan shifts and allocate manpower effectively.
• Supervise fabric production steps including cutting, sewing, and programming.
• Ensure proper handling of WIP and availability of utilities.
• Support packaging, shipping, and inventory activities as needed.
• Review drawings and cut-piece profiles before production.
• Provide in-process quality inspections and fitment checks.
• Drive Lean, Kaizen, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Train and mentor both permanent and contract staff.
• Prepare daily, shift-wise, and monthly production reports and MIS.
• Perform SAP/ERP production order confirmations and routing entries.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with Stores for inventory management.
• Support internal/external audits with documentation and compliance.
