Job summary

Valmet invites you to launch your design engineering career as a Design Engineer focused on electrical and automation systems. You will collaborate with design, development and production teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for board and paper machines and packaging systems.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and 4–7 years of relevant industrial automation experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering required.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in industrial automation/board and paper machines and packaging systems.
• Strong competence in MCS Electrification and cabinet design knowledge.
• Experience with CADMATIC, ePLAN, COMOS or similar engineering systems.

Responsibilities

• Produce project documentation within schedules.
• Collect initial data for detail engineering.
• Implement decisions of product safety analysis and confirm work safety with automation chief engineer and product safety specialist.
• Follow project schedules, project instructions and model solutions.
• Provide feedback for updating instructions and model solutions.
• Participate in engineering reviews.
• Produce documents for design groups, manufacturing, installation and customer.
• Travel 10–20% as needed.
• Support customer training, startup, FAT and warranty activities.

Your responsibilities

• Responsible of producing project documentation within schedules
• Collecting initial data for detail engineering
• Implementing the decisions of product safety analysis and confirming work safety at the machine in cooperation with the automation chief engineer and product safety specialist.
• Following project schedules, project instructions and model solutions
• Giving feedback for updating instructions and model solutions when needed
• Participating in engineering reviews
• Produce needed documents for other design groups, manufacturing, installation and customer.
• Following of own engineering hours and progress
• Participating in customer training and startup, as appropriate
• Participating in workshop test and FAT
• Customer support and project specific babysitting, as appropriate
• Service and warranty work, as appropriate

Expectations for you

Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering from a reputed university. Experience: 4-7 years of relevant experience in industrial automation/board and paper machines and packaging systems. Competence in MCS Electrification and cabinet design knowledge Competence in Engineering systems knowledge, database based (E.g. CADMATIC, ePLAN, COMOs) You should read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings. You will support the Manufacturing and suppliers on the technical clarifications Knowledge of Valmet DNA systems and experience in board and paper machines will be considered an added advantage. Knowledge Cost saving, quality knowledge and Risk Management Travel according to business needs 10-20% Effective communication and presentation skills in English
