Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Bangalore, India, is hiring for on-site manufacturing roles on a shift basis. The candidate will ensure safety, quality, and timely production targets while maintaining a clean, organized work area and supporting equipment maintenance and repair.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • This position may require licensing for export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Responsibilities

  • Stop work and report major injury hazards and any work-related injuries.
  • Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures and regulations; use appropriate PPE.
  • Follow standard work, process documentation and quality procedures (SPC, poka-yoke, visual standards).
  • Operate manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble product meeting customer specs.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area and perform routine housekeeping and maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with peers, skilled trades and support staff to identify equipment needing repair.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and support groups; participate in training and personal development.
  • Learn HT and LV winding manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards. Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard. Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures & regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Promote interdependence by looking out for one another. Correct hazards within your control and capabilities. Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact. Engage in HSE Training. Quality Follows all applicable standard work, process documentation and quality procedures such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), poka-yoke and visual standards. Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Performs quality inspections. Identifies and controls non-conforming material. Delivery Operates manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble product in order to create the proper characteristics and dimensions necessary to meet customer expectations. Demonstrates a high level of competency in core work skills. Achieves production goals. Works at the required cycle time or defined engineering standard. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks. Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals. Works with peers, skilled trades and support staff to maintain and identify equipment needing repair. Teamwork Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams. Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements. Participates actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Role Specific Details
  • The role is based at the CGT supplier location in Bangalore and requires working in shifts.
  • Responsible for ensuring that safety, quality, production, and delivery targets are met by the CGT supplier.
  • Ensures all manufacturing processes and business controls are followed as per defined standards.
  • Expected to learn and gain hands-on experience in HT and LV winding manufacturing processes.
