IIC Group (Innovative Instruments & Controls) in Chennai is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead day-to-day production, testing and quality of MCC, PCC, VFD, APFC and PLC/automation panels. You will ensure every panel leaves the shop floor on time, built to drawing, fully tested and documented.

You will bridge Design, Stores/Logistics, Sales and customers to keep production running without rework or delays, while enforcing safety, 5S, and industry standards.

Qualifikationen

• 8–12 years in LT, control and automation panel manufacturing.
• Minimum 3 years leading a team.
• BE/B.Tech or Diploma in EEE/EIE/ECE.
• Ability to read GA drawings, schematics and BOMs.
• Strong communication in English and Tamil.

Role Summary

You will lead day-to-day production, testing and quality of MCC, PCC, VFD, APFC and PLC/automation panels. You make sure every panel leaves the shop floor on time, built to drawing, fully tested and documented. You will work as the link between Design, Stores/Logistics, Sales and the customer so production runs without rework or delays.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

• Plan and run panel production schedules against order priorities and delivery commitments
• Lead and supervise wiremen, fitters and testing technicians, including allocating manpower and tracking productivity
• Make sure builds follow approved GA/schematic drawings, BOM and wiring standards
• Find bottlenecks, cut rework and improve cycle time and workmanship
• Enforce shop-floor safety, 5S and housekeeping
• Carry out hands-on parameterisation, testing and troubleshooting of VFDs (Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Control Techniques, Danfoss, Delta, Mitsubishi or similar)
• Run motor-coupled and no-load testing, and check I/O, communication and protection functions
• Support site commissioning and resolve field issues when needed
• Prepare and run FAT procedures: I/O checks, network/communication tests (PROFINET, Modbus, Ethernet/IP), interlock and sequence simulation
• Lead customer and consultant FAT witness visits, and record and close punch points
• Carry out routine tests such as IR, HV and continuity, plus functional and power-on tests

QC & Documentation

• Prepare and maintain QC dossiers: inspection checklists, test reports, FAT protocols and reports, IR/HV records, calibration records and as-built markups
• Make sure panels comply with IEC 61439 / IS 8623, IEC 60204-1 and customer specifications
• Maintain NCR/CAPA records and support ISO quality system requirements

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Design: clarify drawings, feed back on manufacturability and control revisions
• Purchase/Stores/Logistics: track material readiness, shortages, dispatch planning, packing and documents
• Sales: confirm delivery dates, technical deviations and change orders
• Customer: handle progress updates, inspection scheduling, query resolution and handover

Other

• Any other responsibilities assigned by management in line with business needs
• Strong hands-on knowledge of VFDs, PLCs (Siemens S7-1200/1500 preferred), HMIs and switchgear
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, GA drawings and BOMs
• Sound knowledge of panel testing practice and relevant standards
• Proven ability to lead a shop-floor team and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills in English and Tamil, with confidence dealing with customers and consultants
• Working knowledge of MS Excel/Office; exposure to EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical is a plus

Preferred

• Experience with OEM or system-integrator panel shops serving pharma, F&B, water/wastewater or oil & gas
• Exposure to customer FATs witnessed by third-party inspectors
