Job summary

Innovative Instruments & Controls in Chennai is seeking an Electrical Panel Assembler to build and wire industrial control panels, PLC, HMI, and related assemblies.

You will interpret schematics, mount components, perform testing, and support installation and commissioning at customer sites, while maintaining safety and quality.

The role requires independent work and teamwork, with a focus on meeting project timelines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of industrial control panel assembly and wiring.
• Ability to read electrical schematic drawings.
• Hands-on experience with electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, insulation testers, and continuity testers.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical control panels and related assemblies (PLC, HMI, VFD, MCC, PCC).
• Wire panels according to electrical schematics and GA drawings.
• Read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and terminal layouts.
• Mount components such as MCBs, MCCBs, relays, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and transformers.
• Perform ferruling, cable dressing, crimping, gland fixing, and terminations.
• Carry out continuity tests and insulation resistance checks.
• Identify and rectify wiring faults and assembly issues.
• Support installation, commissioning and troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality procedures.
• Maintain tools, equipment and a clean work area.
• Coordinate with design and production teams to meet project timelines.

About the Role

Assemble electrical control panels, PLC panels, MCC panels, PCC panels, VFD panels, and instrumentation panels.Perform panel wiring as per electrical schematics and GA drawings.Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and terminal layouts.Mount electrical components such as MCBs, MCCBs, Contactors, Relays, SMPS, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Terminal Blocks, and Control Transformers.Perform ferruling, cable dressing, crimping, gland fixing, and cable termination.Conduct continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and functional testing before dispatch.Identify and rectify wiring faults and assembly issues.Support panel installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites when required.Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company quality procedures.Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.Coordinate with design and production teams to meet project timelines.

Key Requirements

• Strong knowledge of industrial control panel assembly and wiring.
