Job summary

A leading manufacturer in the automotive industry is seeking a Production Area Manager for their foundry operations in Maharashtra, India. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automobile/Metallurgy Engineering and extensive experience in aluminum die casting processes, along with significant team management experience. Strong communication and advanced Excel skills are essential.

For our Operations Department in Maxion Wheels Aluminum India Pvt. Ltd., Khed, Pune - India, we are looking for a Production Area Manager (Foundry).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of foundry operations including melting, casting, mould maintenance, x-ray and heat treatment. Ensure production targets are met with optimal quality, safety, and efficiency. Lead a team of supervisors, team leaders and operators; drive continuous improvement initiatives; collaborate cross-functionally to support business goals.
• Health, Environment Safety: Ensure the correct application of environmental system ISO 14000 and customer-specific standards. Cooperate with MR / Environmental Manager for documentation, communication, improvement plans, periodical checks, surveillance & records. Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment. Verify the correct use of PPE and maintenance of protective devices on machinery and equipment. Ensure the team is informed about rules, regulations and consequences of non-compliance.
• Production oversight: Plan, coordinate, and control foundry operations to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. Monitor die-cast parameters and automation systems to ensure consistent output and minimal downtime. Ensure KPI and performance indices such as OEE, Fallout, Productivity, and Consumable control are maintained along with Aluminum Melting / Casting best practices. Ensure production planning in accordance with fixed time, checking quantity and quality against required standards. Analyze production plan, quantities, lots, features and technical data, communicate variations, and take appropriate steps. Monitor process checks and operating phases to ensure productive standards. Support new launches, trials, process modifications, etc. Deploy systems (where applicable) such as M2S, TPM, etc. Communicate with maintenance for equipment anomalies and ensure repairs or preventive maintenance. Maintain 5S at workstations.
• People Management: Ensure clear communication within the department; provide training and evaluation of personnel; determine training needs, plan and conduct regular trainings; evaluate performance as per HR process; ensure adherence to company code of conduct; manage workforce planning (holidays, permits, illnesses, incidents, shift changes); communicate changes in company code, procedures, and activities; provide support to Shift Supervisor for activity management and growth.
• Quality Management Standards: Ensure correct application of quality system instructions in line with ISO-TS 16949 and customer requirements; execute product, process and system audits; work with Quality Manager on key results (laboratory tests, engineering tests, layout examinations); cooperate with other departments to resolve quality problems.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to company and regulatory compliance requirements across all levels within the team.

Your profile

• Bachelor of Mechanical/ Automobile/ Metallurgy Engineering or similar technical education
• 15 years of experience in aluminum die casting processes (preferably LPDC), with Tier-1 automotive experience supplying major OEMs, and at least 7 years of team management experience (leading shift supervisors and teams below).
• Ability to work in a matrix organization
• Strong English communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Understands complex concepts and relationships between issues or problems
• Intellectual agility; willing to take on unfamiliar tasks
