Job summary

dSPACE is seeking a Product Owner for one of our new product development teams in Trivandrum. You will own the product vision and backlog, guiding priorities across BMS, VCU, MCU, and related domains to deliver customer value.

You will bridge product management and engineering, ensure stakeholder alignment, and drive continuous improvement within SIL/HIL workflows. Strong SAFePO or similar certification and 8+ years in automotive are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master degree in CS, ECE or EEE with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience as Product Owner in automotive domain with SAFe certification.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems (VCU, MCU, BMS, motor, inverter, battery, dynamics, instrument cluster, telematics).

Responsibilities

• Own the product backlog and maximize value in line with the vision and business goals.
• Analyze, coordinate, and prioritize features with customers, partners, and the Scrum team.
• Translate requirements into features and acceptance criteria balancing technical feasibility and value.
• Be the voice of the customer within the Scrum team, representing needs and pain points.
• Identify opportunities to enhance product value and competitiveness.
• Engage with stakeholders regularly, incorporating feedback into development.
• Make prioritization trade-offs balancing short-term needs with long-term growth.

Then become a Product Owner (m/f/d) of one of the new product development teams at dSPACE. You will work on exciting and technologically cutting-edge product development projects, in the areas of control prototyping, Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) simulation, and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulation.

In this role, you take ownership of the product vision and backlog, ensuring that the team delivers solutions that meet customer needs and align with strategic goals. You will act as the bridge between product management and technical implementation, guiding priorities to maximize value delivery. You will focus on requirements related to Battery Management Systems (BMS), Vehicle Control Units (VCU), Motor Control Units (MCU), Vehicle Dynamics, Instrument Cluster, and Telematics. Beyond backlog management, you will identify gaps, gather feedback, and drive continuous improvement for validation solutions at both component and system levels. Your Tasks

• You own the product backlog and ensure it maximizes value in alignment with the product vision and business goals

Your Qualifications

• You have a B.Tech/M.Tech degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, or Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• You have extensive experience with agile methodologies and have several years of experience as a Product Owner within the automotive domain and have a SAFe® certification, such as SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) or SAFe® Agilist
• You have a good understanding of vehicle systems such as VCU, MCU, BMS, motor, inverter, battery, vehicle dynamics, instrument cluster, and telematics
• You have a good understanding of MATLAB® and Simulink®, and their applications in virtual validation workflows
• You are familiar with Azure® DevOps and Git for version control and CI/CD workflows
• You have strong collaboration skills, ensuring product requirements align with HIL and SIL workflows
• You have a customer-oriented approach and entrepreneurial mindset
• You are an excellent communicator with good presentation skills
