Job summary

FLSmidth in Chennai is seeking a Product Engineer in the Thickening product line to lead design and development of large mining equipment. You will create and maintain 3D models in SolidWorks, generate manufacturing drawings and BOMs, and support fabrication and site teams to ensure performance and quality.

The role demands hands-on engineering, GD&T knowledge, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 7-11 years’ experience with the design and development oflarge industrial equipment.
• Strong hands-on experience in SolidWorks (3D modeling, detailing, assemblies).
• Good knowledge of mining equipment/products (e.g., thickeners, clarifiers, thickener drives).
• Familiarity with engineering standards and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Execute design and engineering activities for mining products, ensuring timely delivery within budget and specifications.
• Develop and maintain 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Review and validate 2D/3D drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, procurement, quality).
• Provide technical support to fabrication, assembly, and site teams.
