Job summary

Bajaj Electricals Ltd in Navi Mumbai seeks a Mechanical engineer to assist in the development of components and prototyping for new products. You will collaborate with supply partners and internal design teams to ensure design intent, CTQs, and quality standards are met throughout the prototype and production readiness stages.

Role involves supporting NPD activities from concept to realization, updating development documents, and coordinating with manufacturing plants on jigs, fixtures, and cost

Qualifications

• BE / B.Tech Mechanical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of components and subassemblies as per Milestone process meeting specifications and quality requirements.
• Follow through with engineering designs for closure of actions identified through DFM.
• Identify areas of improvement in parts developed from inspection reports by QA and share observations to engineering design teams.
• Assist in process flow finalization for new products to ensure consistent product quality.
• Review process documents deployment at manufacturing locations.
• Assist in identifying and executing actions to meet intended fit and finish of parts and assemblies.
• Assist seniors' teams in development of rapid prototypes or conventional prototypes and help identify prototyping process for quicker turnaround.
• Follow through with prototype agencies to get prototype developed within time, inspect proto and report observations.
• Participate in NPD process from concept to product realization by helping teams with inputs and executing tasks relevant to product development.
• Assist in creating documents and updating them for identified actions and closure during development.
• Interact with suppliers and help them understand design intent and important CTQs.
• Assist development engineers in closure of actions identified with manufacturing plant and supply partners and provide technical support for successful project industrialization.
• Engage with manufacturing plants for readiness of jigs & fixtures, SPM required for new concept products/processes, participate in commissioning, and provide inputs to ED team for cost elements.
• Identify opportunities for design changes and participate in N10, N100 & mass production for new concept projects.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Assist in execution technical development parts and products of assigned project by closely collaborating with supply partners/plants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Components development

• Assist in development of components and subassemblies as per Milestone process meeting specifications and quality requirements (Except Mold and Press Tools).
• Follow through with engineering designs for closure of actions identified through DFM

• Interact with suppliers and help them understand design intent and important CTQs to be ensured.
• Assist development engineers in closure of actions identified with manufacturing plant and supply partners and provide technical support for successful project industrialization.
• Engage with manufacturing plants for readiness of of Jigs & Fixtures, SPM required for new concept products/processes, participate in commissioning, and provide inputs to ED team for cost elements/ Also identify opportunities for design changes.
• Participate in N10, participate in N100 & mass production for new concept projects. Help development teams in closing required actions.
• Assist teams in process documents creation and communication to Manufacturing engineer at manufacturing locations

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

BE / B.Tech Mechanical Preferred

CERTIFICATIONS

Awareness about Painting and Coating processes 7 QC Tools.
