Job summary

Fintech in Bengaluru seeks a senior designer to own the design language and maintain consistency across the platform. You will build the design system from the ground up and translate complex financial data into intuitive interfaces.

You will lead UX research, shape product decisions with PMs and founders, and ensure the trading experience remains unified, scalable, and data-informed across multiple tools.

Job description

This role is for one of our partner companies, Fintech, $4.2M seed raised.

About the Role

This is not a role focused on making individual screens look better.

You will own the design language and experience consistency across the platform — building the design system from the ground up, translating complex financial information into intuitive interfaces, and working with PMs early enough to shape products before they are built.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and the founders as we build toward our broking launch.

What you'll own

• Build the design system from scratch: Establish components, tokens, themes, colors, interaction patterns, and visual language that can scale across the entire platform.
• Design across 10+ trading tools: Take products from early concepts and wireframes to polished, production-ready designs across screeners, charts, option chains, strategy builders, and more.
• Create one unified trading experience: Work across multiple product pods to ensure individual tools feel like parts of the same intelligent platform rather than disconnected features.
• Simplify complex financial interfaces: Turn dense market data, multi-state workflows, and time-sensitive trading decisions into interfaces that are clear and easy to navigate.
• Define AI interaction patterns: Design how traders interact with natural-language queries, AI-generated insights, code-backed screening results, and AI assistance across trading workflows.
• Lead UX research: Speak directly with retail traders, run usability tests, study user behavior, and translate insights into product decisions.
• Benchmark the best products globally: Study Indian brokers, global trading platforms, and crypto products to understand emerging interaction patterns and opportunities.
• Bring a strong design point of view: When there are competing product approaches, form a thesis, support it with research or data, and drive the team toward a decision.

What we're looking for

• Strong experience designing B2C consumer products at scale, ideally products with millions of users or downloads.
• Experience in fintech, trading, investing, crypto, or other information-dense financial products.
• A portfolio demonstrating excellent work across complex dashboards, data tables, charts, transaction/order flows, or multi-state interfaces.
• Strong understanding of products such as Zerodha Kite, Groww, TradingView, or similar trading platforms.
• Experience building or meaningfully contributing to a design system, including component libraries, tokens, and cross-product consistency.
• Hands-on experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, and UX research.
• Ability to move quickly from ambiguous product problems to production-ready designs.
• Strong product judgment and the confidence to defend design decisions with research, data, and clear reasoning.
• An eye for brand, visual language, tonality, and overall product personality, beyond individual UI components.
• Experience with natural-language interfaces, copilots, or generative AI outputs.
• Deep familiarity with trading workflows, derivatives, options, or active retail trading.
