STEMpedia Inc. is seeking a design intern to support the development of hands-on educational products that bring STEM concepts to life.

You will assist in the full product lifecycle from concept to prototyping and refinement, applying mechanical design principles to create functional, manufacturable components. The role involves CAD modeling and visualization using AutoCAD and KeyShot, plus collaboration on prototyping processes like laser cutting, CNC routing, 3D printing, and injection molding

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in design or related field.
• Minimum 6 months of internship experience.
• Solid grasp of design thinking and mechanical design fundamentals.
• Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD and KeyShot.
• Working fluency in Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with prototyping technologies including laser, CNC routing, 3D printing, and injection molding.

Responsabilidades

About the role:

• - Support the design team in developing educational products that introduce students to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on learning
• - Contribute to the full product lifecycle from concept through prototyping and refinement
• - Work with mechanical design principles to create components that are both functional and manufacturable
• - Participate in design reviews and iterate based on feedback from educators and learners

What you'll work on:

• - CAD modeling and visualization using AutoCAD, KeyShot, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks
• - Creating prototypes and evaluating designs across processes including laser cutting, CNC routing, 3D printing, and injection molding
• - Applying design thinking methodology to solve real-world educational challenges
• - Exploring how robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and augmented or virtual reality can enhance learning experiences

What we're looking for:

• - Bachelor's degree in design or a related field
• - Minimum 6 months of prior internship experience
• - Solid grasp of design thinking and mechanical design fundamentals
• - Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD and KeyShot
• - Working fluency in either Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
