Job summary

Dover India in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead NPD projects for refrigeration display case doors. You will design sheet metal parts and weldments, driving VAVE from ideation to savings tracking while ensuring compliance and performance standards.

You will manage drawings via EPDM, ensure GD&T and tolerance compliance, and validate designs through FEA, DFMEA, and DFMA processes. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Expertise in sheet metal, plastics and weldment design; strong structural and thermal design knowledge; ability to execute NPD and VAVE projects with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of structural design and plastic part design; DFMEA, DFM/DFA, VAVE, FEA, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; read and interpret engineering drawings; convert 2D to 3D swiftly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong team player; CSWP certifications would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the NPD projects for refrigeration display case doors, ensuring compliance requirements and performance standards. Design Sheetmetal parts and weldment assembly independently. Drive VAVE projects starting from ideation to savings tracking.
• Manage drawing creation, approval, and release through EPDM systems, ensuring version control and traceability. Ensure drawings meet GD&T and tolerance requirements. Validate designs through simulation, structural and thermal validation, and functional testing.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to enhance manufacturability and cost efficiency. Conduct DFMEA and DVPR to arrive at a validation plan and ensure design meets specifications. Validate designs through FEA simulation and technical reviews.
• Resolve product or manufacturing problems on major product lines individually or as part of a group. Hands-on work on shop floor, as job requires.
• Perform Tolerance stack up Analysis on Door and Frame assemblies. Drive/participate in DFMEA, DFMA and Design reviews.

Skills Required-

• Thorough knowledge of Structural design, Plastic part design. and Design processes knowledge - DFMEA, DFM/DFA, VAVE methodologyFEA, GD&T, and Tolerance stack up.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Ability to read and interpret the Engineering drawings and convert 2D to 3D and viceverse swiftly.
• Ability to effectively problem-solve using tools and techniques like A3, root cause analysis, 5-why's). Should have Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong team player and independent contributor. Six sigma and CSWP certifications would be an added advantage.
