Job summary

Dover is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Bangalore to lead NPD projects for refrigeration display case doors. You will design sheet metal parts, weldments, and develop robust solutions using DFMEA/DFMA, FEA and GD&T for high-volume manufacturing.

The role requires hands-on problem solving on the shop floor, strong communication, and the ability to drive VAVE initiatives to optimize cost and manufacturability. Hybrid work arrangement in Bangalore is expected.

Qualifications

• Lead and execute NPD projects for refrigeration display case doors.
• Design sheetmetal parts and weldment assemblies with GD&T.
• Apply DFM/DFM principles to improve manufacturability and cost.
• Validate designs with FEA, simulations and technical reviews.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings; create 2D/3D models.
• Use EPDM for drawings control and release; ensure traceability.
• Read, analyze and solve complex design and manufacturing issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD and VAVE projects from ideation through savings tracking.
• Drive design robustness via structural/thermal validation and testing.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses on Door and Frame assemblies.
• Collaborate with shop floor for hands-on problem solving.

Design Sheetmetal parts and weldment assembly independently. Drive VAVE projects starting from leading ideation sessions, project pipeline generation, project execution and Savings tracking.* Manage drawing creation, approval, and release through EPDM systems, ensuring version control and traceability. Ensure drawings meets GD&T and Tolerance requirements. Ensure design robustness through simulation, structural and thermal validation, and functional testing.* Apply DFM/DFA principles to enhance manufacturability and cost efficiency. Conduct DFMEA and DVPR to arrive a validation plan and ensure design meets specifications. Validate designs through FEA simulation and technical reviews.* Resolve product or manufacturing problems on major product lines individually or as part of a group as job duties require. Hands-on work on shop floor, as job requires.* Perform Tolerance stack up Analysis on Door and Frame assemblies. Ability to read and interpret the Engineering drawings and convert 2D to 3D and viceverse swiftly.* Ability to effectively problem-solve using tools and techniques like A3, root cause analysis, 5-why's). Should have Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong team player and independent contributor. Six sigma and CSWP certifications would be an added advantage.
