• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience in manufacturing, marine, offshore, or engineering sectors.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work across departments.
• Fluency in English; Tamil or regional Indian languages is a plus.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to join our Chennai office. This role sits at the heart of our supply chain, managing vendor relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of critical components for our marine safety systems. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to support our growth across India and the broader region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supplier Sourcing & Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors for critical materials, components, and services. Maintain a qualified supplier database and manage supplier performance KPIs.
• Cost Optimization: Conduct market analysis, negotiate contracts, and drive cost reductions while maintaining quality and delivery standards. Target 5-10% annual cost improvements.
• Purchase Orders & Contracts: Create and manage POs, track order status, resolve delivery issues, and ensure compliance with commercial terms.
• Supply Chain Planning: Collaborate with Operations and Engineering on demand forecasts, lead times, and inventory optimization to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
• Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers, conduct regular reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
• Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the procurement process and recommend systems or procedural enhancements to increase efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field
• 3-5 years of procurement or supply chain experience, ideally in manufacturing, marine, offshore, or engineering sectors
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work across departments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Tamil or regional Indian languages is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Supply Chain Management (APICS CSCP, SCMP) or Procurement (NIGP, IACCM)
• Experience with marine, offshore, or safety-critical equipment procurement
• Knowledge of ISO certifications and quality management systems
• Experience in cost modeling and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis
