We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing and supply chain operations within our project-based environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement strategies, supplier negotiations, cost reduction, Import purchases, Customs clearance and inventory management with a focus on project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines for project-based needs. (Electro-mechanical Projects)
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure the best terms for project requirements.
- Handle import purchases and customs clearance
- Ensure timely procurement of materials and services necessary for successful project execution.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure alignment with project deadlines.
- Collaborate with respective project departments, and finance teams to align procurement activities with project objectives.
- Manage procurement budgets and track cost savings initiatives related to project expenses.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for procurement activities to maintain compliance with industry regulations.
- Implement and oversee inventory control processes to minimize waste and optimize storage for project-specific materials.
- Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging supply chain technologies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree / master’s degree in mechanical / electrical engineering
- Minimum 12+ (preferably 15+ years) years of procurement experience with a focus on project-based procurement.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier evaluation within project settings.
- Proficiency in Tally / ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management abilities.
- Strong understanding of cost structures, budgeting, and financial analysis for project-based procurement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with project procurement methodologies and risk management.
- Knowledge of international sourcing is a plus must.
