Qualifications

  • MBA in supply chain management is required.
  • Experience in Freight Car Manufacturing/Wagon Industry is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Define, create/develop, implement and maintain sourcing of steel plates, sheets, sections and heavy engineering consumables.
  • Implement purchasing best practices to improve business performance.
  • Manage supplier selection, evaluation, terms, supplier rationalization and purchasing solutions.
  • Mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities through proactive evaluation of business challenges.
  • Follow purchasing policy, guidelines and documents; initiate and innovate procurement processes.

Job description

Purpose of the Role:
  • The primary focus of this role is to define, create/develop, implement, maintain Sourcing of Steel (Plates, Sheets, Sections), and various other associated sourcing of heavy engineering consumables.
  • To follow high standards across the organization.
  • Responsible for executing, managing, delivering within the company to cater to global market while optimizing the entire process.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement best practice of purchasing, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
  • Ensure and align with business objectives, operational needs, and market competitiveness.
  • Manage supplier selection and evaluation processes, including terms and conditions, supplier rationalization, and purchasing solutions.
  • Mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities through proactive evaluation of business challenges.
  • To follow the purchasing policy, guidelines, and associated documents.
  • Initiate and innovate procurement processes, including Procurement of steel and other consumables.

  • B. Tech/ B.E. in Mechanical engineer with over 5-10 years of work experience in procurement, logistics and exports in a manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in Freight Car Manufacturing/ Wagon Industry is necessary.
  • MBA (Full Time) in supply chain management.
  • In addition to good knowledge of English, we also look for skills such as technical curiosity, creativity, innovation, initiative, communication, leadership and the ability to work with others.
Skills & Experience:
  • 15-18 Years of experience of Freight Car Manufacturing/ Wagon Industry/Rolling stock/Heavy Engineering is necessary.
