Chennai Radha Engineering Works (CREW) in Chennai seeks an experienced Procurement Manager to lead bulk material handling equipment procurement including conveyors, stackers, wagons, feeders, crushers, screens, hoppers and chutes.

The role focuses on strategic sourcing, vendor development, and techno-commercial evaluation for EPC projects, coordinating across Engineering, Projects, Planning, and Finance to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategic sourcing and procurement of bulk material handling equipment and systems.
• Experience in Mines Procurement (Machineries & Vehicles).
• Ability to identify, evaluate, and develop OEMs, manufacturers, fabricators and approved vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing, vendor development and commercial negotiations.
• Execute purchases ensuring compliance with specifications and contracts.
• Monitor supplier manufacturing, inspection, dispatch and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Project, Planning, Stores and Finance teams.
• Drive cost reduction and localization initiatives.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager with strong expertise in sourcing and procurement of bulk material handling equipment and systems, including belt conveyors, stacker reclaimers, wagon tipplers, feeders, crushers, screens, hoppers, chutes, and associated mechanical Equipments. In addition we are looking for a candidate who is having experience in Mines Procurement (Machineries & Vehicles).

The candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor development, commercial negotiations, purchase execution, cost optimization, and timely delivery of equipment and critical components for industrial projects.(EPC)

• Float RFQs, prepare commercial comparisons and conduct techno-commercial evaluations along with Engineering/Projects teams.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, LD clauses and other commercial terms.
• Issue purchase orders and ensure compliance with approved specifications and contractual requirements.
• Monitor supplier manufacturing, inspection, dispatch and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Project, Planning, Stores and Finance teams.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Develop alternate sources to reduce dependency and supply-chain risks.
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering and localization initiatives.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project specifications and quality standards.
• Manage long-lead items and proactively identify potential delays.
• Maintain procurement MIS, order status, vendor performance and cost-saving reports.
• Support project teams during vendor meetings, inspections and technical/commercial clarifications.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering /Electrical and Electronics Engineering
