Job summary

Hiringplug in India (Chennai) is seeking an experienced procurement professional for automotive direct materials. You will lead strategic sourcing and category management for direct materials and drive value engineering, should-cost analyses, and cost-reduction initiatives.

The role involves managing supplier negotiations, development and performance improvement, localisation opportunities, and collaboration with OEMs and Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production or related engineering discipline.
• MBA from a reputed institute preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in automotive procurement and direct sourcing.
• Hands-on experience in direct material sourcing and value engineering / cost reduction across multiple component categories.
• Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing and component costing.
• 5 days working | Hybrid model
• Travel to client sites as required
