Procurement Manager - Cost Engineering

Role Overview
The Procurement Consulting team is part of our Value Creation service line and our focus is to optimise clients’ purchasing strategies, reduce costs and manage supplier relationships to improve cost, liquidity, and investment performance. As a Manager you will work with experienced colleagues to deliver multi‑stakeholder, international and domestic procurement projects and raise Interpath’s profile as a premier provider of value‑creation advisory services.
Responsibilities
- Assess current procurement processes and collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and strategic priorities
- Identify improvement opportunities by analysing bottlenecks, inefficiencies, cost drivers and risks across procurement, logistics, planning and distribution
- Design and implement cost‑effective procurement strategies that ensure compliance and positively impact EBITDA, working capital and operational KPIs
- Conduct supplier evaluations including leading negotiations, managing contracts and benchmarking against best practices to support ongoing supplier performance management
- Manage stakeholders and articulate procurement value to CFO, COO and supply‑chain leadership, preparing reports, forecasts and spend analyses for strategic decision‑making
- Lead or support large‑scale change management transformation initiatives, including organisational restructuring, acquisition integration and readiness planning for operational disruptions
- Collaborate closely with the local Austrian Managing Director to support sales and business‑development initiatives and build Interpath Advisory’s presence in Austria
- Engage with potential new clients, building trusted relationships and identifying new opportunities across the Austrian market
Requirements
- Strong academic background (Master’s or PhD preferred) and hands‑on experience in procurement consulting and project management
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and on‑site teams while assuming responsibility for cost control and implementation outcomesStrong commercial understanding, including P&L impact and ability to connect procurement to cash, EBITDA, working capital and operational KPIs
- Excellent category knowledge, including market dynamics, key suppliers, cost drivers and negotiation levers
- Experience in product cost calculations: dismantling sample parts, creating bills of materials, planning manufacturing processes, evaluating cycle times, estimating tooling costs and researching material prices and machine investments
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit, ownership beyond project delivery and proactive contribution to growth and market positioning in Austria
- Represent Interpath CoE Procurement at industry forums and external events as a credible ambassador and thought leader
- Actively support pitches and proposals, providing commercial insight, market knowledge and compelling client narratives
- Well‑developed team leadership and coaching capabilities, excellent communication and influencing skills
- Native or business‑fluent proficiency in German and English (C1) is required; additional European languages such as French or Spanish are advantageous
