Job summary

Agratas – A Tata Enterprise in India is looking for a Process Safety Engineer to integrate process safety into factory and process design at the Sanand site. You will support engineering teams with expert safety input and risk assessments to deliver inherently safe design across high-hazard processes.

You will apply DSEAR concepts, HAZOP/LOPA/QRA techniques and contribute to the ongoing improvement of Agratas’ safety management system, coaching teams to uphold rigorous safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related engineering subject.
• Proven process safety experience in a high-hazard environment.
• Familiar with DSEAR, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA techniques and consequence modelling.
• Understanding of hazard study methodologies and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide expert technical support in process safety areas such as risk assessment and safe design.
• Support process risk assessments and hazard analyses underpinning safe design.
• Advise on application of local and international safety standards to promote inherently safe design.
• Assist in developing Basis of Safety for key process areas.
• Review specifications and equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
• Support implementation and management of company engineering standards.
• Assist with MSIHC compliance and other consents as required.
• Contribute to safety management system improvements and continuous development.
• Communicate complex requirements clearly to the wider team and obtain buy-in.
• Coach others to champion process safety across the organization.

ROLE PROFILE

As a Process Safety Engineer at Agratas, you’ll be a subject matter expert. You will support our engineering and design teams to efficiently integrate process safety into the factory and process design. The role will be based at Sanand.

PERSON PROFILE

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide expert technical support in process safety areas e.g. ATEX/DSEAR risk assessment, hazardous area classification, safe handling of combustible dusts, control of electrostatic hazards.
• Support the execution of process risk assessments and hazard analysis exercises, which underpin the delivery of a safe design (including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA).
• Advise and steer on application of local rules, international standards, and best practices to promote inherently safe design.
• Support process engineering teams to develop Basis of Safety for key process areas.
• Review specifications, design, and supply of equipment to ensure compliance with safety, permitting, and company procedures.
• Support the implementation & management of company engineering/design standards.
• Support compliance activities including MSIHC and other applicable consents.
• Contribute to the development and continual improvement of Agratas process safety management system.
• Interpret and communicate complex requirements to the wider team to ensure understanding and buy-in.
• Coach others to champion a culture of process safety excellence across our global business.
