Job summary

Agratas in India is seeking an experienced Production Leader to oversee assembly operations in a lithium-ion cell manufacturing environment. You will manage 50+ staff, ensure SOPs, WI, and check sheets are understood, and drive production throughputs while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Collaboration with process engineering, maintenance, quality and SCM is essential to meet monthly targets. You will mentor Juniors, execute PM schedules, and apply 8D, Six Sigma and QC tools to resolve

Qualifications

• Essential: 8–10 years leading production in Li-ion cell or EV battery pack manufacturing, or solar cell plant.
• Deep knowledge of assembly operations and problem-solving tools (8D, Six Sigma).
• Degree: BE in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics; Six Sigma certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage 50+ staff in Assembly zone to achieve production SQDC KPIs.
• Ensure SOPs/WIs/Check sheets are understood by Team Leaders and Operators.
• Drive throughput targets and escalate issues promptly.
• Ensure 100% compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for PM and equipment availability.
• Collaborate with Quality, SCM, and PE for smooth operations.

JOB SUMMARY

Greenfield

• Train and develop Juniors Assembly zone team to be ready before SOP
• Work closely and collaborate with the CFTs like process engineering (global/advanced PE and plant PE. ME), construction, HR, Maintenance etc to ensure right physical and operational standards in place for an efficient manufacturing operation post SOP

Functional

• Ensure Physicals like SOPs/WI/Check sheets are ready and well understood by the Team Leaders/Operators.
• Ensure Line/Zone throughput is as per target and issues are timely escalated.
• Ensure 100% compliance to all statutory requirements.
• Ensure Assembly zone 5S and Autonomous Maintenance compliance is 100%
• Ensure safety & security of manpower and factory equipment.
• Work closely with Maintenance function for timely equipment availability for PM execution and PM schedule adherence to 100%
• Ensure people skill development is as per plan to achieve 3 X 3 versatility skill Levels for each operation in A Zone.
• Liaisoning with other functions like Quality, SCM, Maintenance, PE for smooth functioning of operations

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage 50+ peoples in Assembly zone in one of the lines to achieve Production SQDC KPIs. Organize and control all production operations within the shift. Handle production/Quality abnormalities, Exceptions, drive problem solving by using organisation’s standard Problem-solving tools.

Collaborate with other functions within Assembly zone in the shift to ensure plant objectives are met and achieve month on month goals and targets given by the management from time to time. Ensure timely data inputs are captured in MES/SAP to drive data-based decisions. Ensure timely disposal of waste in line with set standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential - A min of 8-10 years of experience leading the Production area in Lithium-ion cell manufacturing plant or EV Battery Pack Manufacturing Plant. Solar Cell manufacturing plant.

In-depth knowledge & Experience in Assembly Operations such as Cutting and Stacking, Ultrasonic / Laser welding, Minor troubleshooting. In-depth knowledge in managing exceptions, handling NG products, CAPA. Proficiency in Problem solving tools like 8D, Six Sigma, 7 QC Tools

Desired - Deep knowledge of Cutting and Stacking Machines. Laser welding machines, Hands on Experience in MiniTab,
