JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for delivering efficient, safe, and scalable material flow and handling systems across project and operational phases aligned to global standards
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Phase (Greenfield / Brown field)
- Define end-to-end material flow and movement routes based on BoM across different cell products
- Design overall layout for RM/WIP/FG handling including unpacking areas and required handling assets (bins, racks, trolleys) from concept to handover
- Develop and implement manual and automation material handling solutions including AGV systems from RFQ to commissioning and handover
- Lead cross-functional alignment with Production, Quality, Maintenance and EHS to as required to ensure design alignment and feasibility.
- Define and align material traceability requirements with MES team as SPOC
- Collaborate with UK teams to align design standards and replicate global best practices across projects
Factory Regular Operation:
- Own material flow execution across the plant, ensuring stable and efficient movement aligned to production demand
- Drive performance and reliability of automation systems (AGV/ASRS/OHT as applicable
- Ensure adherence to material handling standards and traceability processes across operations
- Lead cross-functional resolution of material flow disruptions and operational bottlenecks
- Continuously improve material handling practices to enhance safety, reduce damage, and optimize efficiency
- Deploy global best practices and drive continuous improvement aligned to productivity, cost, and quality targets
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge
- Discrete manufacturing process knowledge (Cell manufacturing preferred)
- Material flow & movement method design and industrial engineering fundamentals
- Automation systems (AGV, conveyors, OHT and other handling solutions)
- MES and material traceability concepts
- Layout planning and shopfloor logistics
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Layout planning and practical shopfloor solution design
- Supplier management (RFQ, FAT, commissioning)
- Cross-functional stakeholder management
- Ability to translate design into execution
- Effective communication in global setup
Experience
- 5–10 years in manufacturing/Industrial engineering
- Experience in greenfield project execution is mandatory (minimum 1–2 years)
- Supplier handling experience is mandatory; global project coordination is an advantage
- Experience in designing storage locations and warehouse layouts (RM / FG)
ROLE SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of MES / SAP (MM/WM/EWM)
- Good knowledge of layout planning and assembly lines (small/medium discrete manufacturing)
- Knowledge on designing Storage location, RM & FG Warehouse.
- Lean Manufacturing / Lean Logistics certification
- AGV / Automation system exposure or certification (OEM or project-based)
