Job summary

Zydus Lifesciences is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Staff in Moraiya, Ahmedabad. The role requires BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical with 6–13 years of experience in plant maintenance and related engineering functions.

You will handle maintenance, breakdown support, preventive/predictive maintenance, and documentation while ensuring safety and GMP standards. Responsibilities include equipment modification, SAP transactions, and adherence to annual engineering calendars.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical is required.
• Experience 6-13 years in engineering maintenance.
• Understanding of cGMP/GDP practices and good documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform/ supervise operation, maintenance and cleaning of plant engineering functions (e.g., Granulation, FBD, coating, packing).
• Attend to/ensure breakdowns in respective area equipment and resolve them promptly.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance of equipment in the area.
• Ensure no production/packing losses by providing continuous engineering services.
• Modify and troubleshoot equipment as needed and implement changes.
• Follow annual calendars for engineering schedules and SOPs.
• Prepare, issue and control engineering documents and SOPs.
• Record and retrieve documents, run SAP transactions, and maintain logs and service cards.
• Maintain safe working conditions to avoid accidents and ensure compliance with cGMP.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform/ supervise operation, maintenance and cleaning as per requirement of respective Engineering function ( Plant maintenance equipments like Granulation(RMG, FBD), Compression Coating, Packing).
• To attend/ensure breakdown related to the respective area equipment on timely basis.
• Responsible for the preventive and predictive maintenance of respective area equipment.
• To ensure that there is no production/packing process loss by assuring proper and continuous engineering services.
• Responsible for equipment alteration, modification and troubleshooting wherever required.
• Ensure the engineering schedules are followed as defined in annual calendars.
• To assist/ accompany with the vendor wherever applicable.
• To maintain the inventory of stock/spares as applicable.
• Issuance of engineering material from Engineering stores.
• To prepare, revise and implement the respective function SOPs.
• Issuance and retrieval of the required documents.
• To perform relevant SAP transactions.
• To maintain safe working conditions to avoid Accident.
• To perform and ensure on-line documentation like logbooks, service cards, check list, etc.
• To Participate/facilitate cross-functional investigations.
• Responsible for following Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) wherever applicable.
• Identify and report accidents and unsafe conditions or unusual circumstances to reporting authority.
• To escalation the issues related to the process, quality, cleaning process or documentation related activities to reporting authority.
• Other duties, which may be assigned from time to time, by reporting manager.

Essential job requirements:

• Understands the purpose and functioning of respective Engineering function and systems.
• Execute procedures in accordance with SOP requirements.
• Proper communication with subordinates and other department personnel.
• Ability to document in log books/applicable documents while performing the job using good documentation practices.
• Understands the Good Documentation Practices, ALCOA policy.
• Attention to detail and ability to spot potential issues that can lead to GMP or GDP issues.
