Job summary

Abacus Consultants is seeking a Process Excellence Specialist to optimize business processes through data-driven analysis, mapping, and KPI-driven improvement. The role focuses on identifying inefficiencies, implementing Lean Six Sigma practices, and driving organizational change.

The candidate will work across departments to develop and execute continuous improvement programs, document procedures, and train teams on new processes.

Qualifications

• Educational background: a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations management or related field.
• In-depth knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean or TQM.
• Data collection and analysis using statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel) and data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of existing processes and identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Create detailed process maps and flowcharts to visualize current processes.
• Define KPIs and metrics to measure process effectiveness.
• Develop and implement process improvement strategies and best practices.
• Identify root causes of process issues and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement changes and drive adoption.
• Maintain documentation of process improvements and procedures.
• Provide training and support on updated processes.

Process Excellence Specialists, or Business Process Improvement Specialists, professionals who focus on optimizing and streamlining business processes within organizations. play a pivotal role in enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall operational performance. This job description outlines the key responsibilities, qualifications, and skills required for individuals in process excellence roles.

Core Responsibilities

• Process Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of existing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze data related to process performance, utilizing statistical and analytical tools to identify trends and areas requiring attention.
• Process Mapping: Create detailed process maps and flowcharts to visualize current processes and pinpoint areas for optimization.
• Performance Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure process effectiveness and monitor progress in process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Background:A bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is typically required.
