Job summary

Novopor Advanced Science seeks a skilled process engineer to support scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing scale, ensuring smooth technology transfer and robust troubleshooting across R&D, Production and Quality teams.

Applicants should have 3–6 years of experience in chemical process scale-up, with practical problem-solving, strong documentation, and ability to drive process optimization initiatives in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in process scale-up, technology transfer and troubleshooting within chemical, specialty/fine chemical, agrochemical or pharmaceutical intermediate industries.
• Strong understanding of chemical process engineering, scale-up and process optimization.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach to troubleshooting.
• Effective communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Good planning, documentation and execution skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support process development, scale-up, pilot plant and commercial plant trials from laboratory/kilo-lab to manufacturing scale.
• Execute scale-up activities, including mass & energy balances, process calculations, equipment sizing and scale-up risk assessment.
• Prepare and update PFDs, P&IDs, batch records, SOPs, technical reports, MOC and change-control documents.
• Identify opportunities to improve yield, cycle time, productivity, energy efficiency, raw material consumption and utility usage.
• Support optimization of reaction conditions, mixing, heat transfer, distillation, crystallization, filtration and drying operations.
• Troubleshoot batch failures, process deviations, process upsets and equipment bottlenecks and participate in RCA/CAPA activities.
• Provide technical support to Production during plant trials and routine manufacturing operations.
• Work closely with R&D, Production, Quality, EHS, Maintenance and Project Engineering teams for process stabilization and implementation.
• Participate in HAZOP, PSSR, commissioning and technology transfer activities.
• Maintain comprehensive scale-up, plant trial and process history records and ensure compliance with EHS and quality requirements.
