Job summary

Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies in India is seeking an experienced manufacturing professional to oversee lithium-ion cell production across electrode fabrication, cell assembly, and formation. You will ensure strict adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and safety while driving yield and productivity improvements.

The role emphasizes process controls, OEE, and data-driven problem solving with collaboration across maintenance, quality, and process engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor lithium-ion cell manufacturing processes across Electrode Fabrication, Cell Assembly, and Formation areas.
• Execute manufacturing operations including slurry mixing, coating, drying, calendering, slitting, stacking/winding, welding, electrolyte filling, sealing, formation, aging, grading, and testing.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, process specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Monitor production parameters and drive improvements in yield, productivity, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Troubleshoot process and equipment-related issues in coordination with Maintenance, Quality, and Process Engineering teams.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), process validation, commissioning, and production ramp-up activities.
• Analyze manufacturing data and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve process performance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, waste elimination, cycle time reduction, and process optimization.
• Ensure compliance with EHS guidelines, cleanroom protocols, and manufacturing best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production, quality, and operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills

• Knowledge of lithium-ion cell manufacturing processes including Electrode Fabrication, Cell Assembly, and Formation.
• Understanding of battery manufacturing equipment, process controls, and quality systems.
• Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs such as Yield, OEE, Scrap, Throughput, and Productivity.
• Experience in process troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of SPC, CAPA, 7QC Tools, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Exposure to MES, ERP, and automated manufacturing systems is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines.

Experience

• 6-10 years of experience in Lithium-Ion Cell Manufacturing, Battery Manufacturing, Electronics Manufacturing, Automotive Manufacturing, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Experience in any of the following areas is preferred: Electrode Fabrication, Cell Assembly, Formation, Aging, Grading, or Battery Testing.
