Clean Electric is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and safety of Li-ion battery pack assembly line equipment, including laser welders, conveyors, and PLC systems. The role blends hands-on troubleshooting with system-level improvements in a startup setting.
The candidate should have 4–8 years in battery/automotive/electronics maintenance, with experience in PLCs, sensors, and safety interlocks. On-site at Chakan near Pune, India.
Formación
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical with hands-on maintenance experience in battery/automation environments.
- Experience in maintenance of production equipment, preferably in Li-ion battery or automotive sectors.
- Proven ability to perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
- Familiarity with PLCs (Delta/Siemens/Mitsubishi) and HMI fault diagnosis.
Responsabilidades
- Maintain uptime and reliability of production equipment including laser welders, conveyors, fixtures, and jigs.
- Troubleshoot PLC-based systems and modify basic ladder logic for sensors and conveyors.
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance of motors, drives, sensors, actuators, and control panels.
- Drive TPM practices and RCA analysis to reduce MTBF and MTTR; coordinate with software/vendor teams.
- Manage spare parts for critical items and ensure safety interlocks and temperature monitoring systems.

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and safety of all production equipment in a Li-ion battery pack assembly line. This includes laser welding machines,cell and pack cyclers, conveyors, fixtures, PLC system.
The role requires a mix of hands-on troubleshooting + system-level improvement mindset (important for a startup environment).
1. Equipment Maintenance & Uptime
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of:
- Laser welding machines (fiber laser, tab welding)
- Conveyor systems (palletized / indexing)
- Battery assembly fixtures & jigs
- Pneumatic & hydraulic systems
- Ensure minimum downtime and quick restoration during breakdowns
2. Automation & PLC Troubleshooting
- Diagnose faults in PLC systems (Delta / Siemens / Mitsubishi)
- Modify basic ladder logic for:
- Sensors (limit switches, proximity, interlocks)
- Conveyor logic and sequencing
- Handle HMI fault diagnosis and alarm tracking
3. Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance
- Maintain alignment, clearances, and mechanical integrity of fixtures
- Troubleshoot:
- Motors, drives (VFD/servo)
- Sensors and actuators
- Control panels & wiring
- Diagnose issues related to: -
- Voltage/current measurement errors
- Cycler Channel failures and imbalance
- Communication errors between cycler & software
Ensure proper functioning of: -
- Temperature monitoring systems
- Safety interlocks (OV, UV, OT protection)
- Calibrate channels periodically for accuracy and repeatability
- Coordinate with software/vendor teams for cycler-related issues

4. TPM & Reliability Improvement
- Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) practices
- Track and improve:
- MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
- MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) using:
- Why-Why analysis
- Fishbone diagram
5. Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Maintain critical spare inventory for:
- Sensors, relays, drives, PLC modules
- Identify long-lead items and avoid line stoppage risks
6. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to:
- Electrical safety norms
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) controls (critical for Li-ion)
- Fire safety systems (battery environment specific)
- Participate in safety audits
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain:
- Maintenance logs - Preventive maintenance, Operator checklist
- Breakdown reports
- Checklists and SOPs, Use tools like JIRA for tracking
- Bachelors degree in Electrical background
- 4-8 years of experience in the Battery / automotive /Electronics industry preferred
- Familiarity with Li ion battery manufacturing environment -
- Cell/module/pack cycling systems
- End-of-line (EOL) testing
- PLC (ladder logic correction & troubleshooting)
- Sensor & actuator troubleshooting
- Laser welding process basics (preferred)
- Pneumatics & mechanical systems
- Reading electrical schematics
- Cell sorting & grading
- Cell welding (laser/ultrasonic)
- Pack assembly lines
