Job summary

LutechResources is seeking a Process Engineer in Gurgaon, India. The role applies conceptual process engineering knowledge with guidance to solve straightforward problems and contribute to FEED studies, detailed design, and PFD/P&ID development.

You will analyze solutions using established procedures, prepare design calculations and reports, and coordinate with discipline leads to ensure timely, within-budget delivery of projects in the energy sector.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Familiar with standards, codes, and guidelines applicable to the role.
• Registered Engineer in Training (Et) or member of a professional engineering society if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform FEED Studies and detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on more complex and demanding engineering tasks.
• Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses, including design reports and procedures.
• Review vendor and subcontractor submittals for compliance with project specifications and provide comments as necessary.
• Develop an awareness of costs related to own work and the discipline.
• Prepare/check key deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, process datasheets, specifications, and operating philosophies.

Job Overview:

The Process Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of process engineering and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward process engineering problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Process Engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform FEED Studies and detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on more complex and demanding engineering tasks
• Apply knowledge and skills to complete varied assignments
• Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses, including design reports and procedures
• Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines
• Focus on completing work within budgets
• Clearly communicate and explain information in straightforward engineering activities
• Gain familiarity with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements, including identifying concerns as early as practicable
• Recognize changes to scope and notify the discipline Lead Engineer
• Interface with all disciplines to develop clash-free designs
• Interface with other departments to obtain input for Discipline designs and drawings
• Document substantive communications (communications that result in significant decisions or assignment of actions) and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager
• Provide required bid inputs as directed
• Review MTOs for requisitions
• Review vendor and subcontractor submittals, checking for compliance with project specifications and providing comments as necessary
• Check engineering performed by others within the discipline
• Develop an awareness of costs related to own work and of the discipline
• Responsible for preparing/checking the following key deliverables, applicable as per the Project scope:
  • Process simulations / Heat and material balances
  • Process flow diagrams (PFD)
  • Piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID)
  • Equipment and instrument process datasheets
  • Process specifications
  • Operating philosophy and startup and operating manuals
  • Equipment list (process data)
  • Line list (process data)
  • Equipment and line sizing calculations
  • Flare radiation and dispersion calculations
  • Depressurization and flare network studies
  • Process studies

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• 5–10 years of experience in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design
• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering
• Familiar with the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable
• Knowledge of many basic design techniques and analysis methods
• Preferably Registered Engineer in Training (ElT) or member of professional engineering society as applicable
