Job summary

Skillz in Bengaluru is seeking a senior back-end engineer with 12+ years of experience in Go and/or Java to design scalable services for our gaming platform. You will work across cloud environments and container tech to power real-money gaming experiences.

The role requires hands-on expertise with distributed systems, caching, relational databases, and a strong drive to ship with quality. In-office presence is required three days a week in Bangalore, India.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional work experience in Go and/or Java.
• Proficient with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or similar container technologies.
• Experience in gaming industry or passion for building services for games.
• Strong experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, caching mechanisms, and relational databases.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Able to work in-office 3 days a week in Bangalore, India

Experience

• 12+ years of professional work experience in Golang (GO) and/or Java
• Proficient in working with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or similar container technologies.
• Experience in the Gaming Industry (ideally). Alternatively, passion for building services for games.
• Strong experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, caching mechanisms, and relational databases.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a technical field of study, or equivalent industry experience
• Able to work in-office 3 days a week in Bangalore, India
