Job summary

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) in Chennai invites a Senior Principal Checker - Piping to lead piping design integrity on onshore projects. You will oversee unit plot plans, equipment layouts and MTO preparation, guiding a team of designers.

Candidates should hold a Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical, with 15–20 years of piping experience and strong knowledge of S3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ISO activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Proficient in S3D, AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Experience in piping design for onshore projects.
• Strong capability to guide junior designers.
• Knowledge of ISO checking and supporting ISO teams on projects.

Principal Checker - Piping

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is looking for Principal Designer who possess experience in working within the piping design team on onshore projects and ensuring piping design integrity is not compromised while managing the execution of the project.

Responsibilities:

• Develop unit plot plans/equipment layouts
• Layout optimisation study
• Preparation of MTO
• Review of Vendor package

Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Candidate should be a Diploma in Mechanical / Chemical
• Excellent knowledge in S3D, MS Office, AutoCAD & MicroStation
• Good knowledge in mechanical handling concepts
• Good Knowledge of support selection and modelling
• Special support drawing creation is preferable
• Good knowledge in ISO checking and back drafting and support ISO team on project needs
• Excellent skill to guide young designers
• Good knowledge in conceptual layout study
• Good Communication skills

15 - 20 years of experience in above skills & responsibilities Knowledge in PML macros development will be considered an added advantage.
