Job summary

Tecnicas Reunidas is seeking a Safety Engineering - Principal Engineer in Chennai to lead Fire & Gas design for power plant projects. A MSc in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering and 10+ years of relevant design experience are required. You will oversee F&G engineers, manage progress, budgets, and interface with stakeholders.

Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ISA, IEC standards and experience with AutoCAD is preferred; MicroStation and SmartPlant Review are advantageous.

Qualifications

• MSc in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of relevant design experience in power plant projects (e.g., Combined cycles, Coal fired, biomass).
• Familiar with industry standards (ASME, API, ISA, IEC).

Responsibilities

• Lead Fire & Gas (F&G) engineering activities for power plant projects.
• Oversee F&G equipment lists, P&IDs, data sheets and cause-and-effect diagrams.
• Ensure progress, budgets and technical interviews are managed effectively.

JD: SAFETY ENGINEERING - PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

MSc in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or similar and a minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience in Power Plant projects such as Combined cycles, Coal fired, biomass, etc. and having good knowledge in the following activities: • Planning, Quality management, proposal reviews and F&G scope. • Familiar with the ASME, API, ISA, IEC and other industry related standards. • Leading a group of F&G engineers/designers • Taking ownership of the project progress, budgets and technical interviews Shall be organized, motivated and team worker.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities of the role

• Fire and Gas Risk Equipment Lists • Fire suppression system for buildings: basic design, specification and requisition • Fire Water Demand Calculations and Fire Water System Hydraulics Calculations (PIPENET) and Reports • Fire Fighting System Layouts • Fire Hazardous Zones Layouts • Fire & Gas Detection and Alarms Layouts • Fire Water P&IDs and Fire Water Line Lists • F&G I/O List • Fire Protection Equipment Data Sheets • F&G Equipment Data Sheets • F&G Cause and Effect Diagrams • F&G Mapping Study and reports.
