Job summary

Quest Global Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Fire & Gas Systems Engineer to lead the development of F&G philosophy, detector layouts, and interface coordination across DCS, ESD, PLC and HVAC systems for offshore/oil & gas projects.

You will design and review Deluge, Water Spray, Hydrant and Clean Agent systems, perform hydraulic calculations and ensure compliance with NFPA/IEC/SOLAS standards, participating in safety reviews and vendor evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering related to fire protection, instrumentation or safety.
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in offshore/marine FPSO, oil & gas or E-House projects.
• Experience with Clean Agent and Inergen suppression systems mandatory.
• Experience with F&G systems integration and ESD interface design.

Responsibilities

• Develop Fire & Gas philosophy and basis of design.
• Perform detector mapping and coverage studies.
• Prepare detector layouts for gas, flame, smoke, heat, and toxic detectors; Manual Call Points; sounders/beacons.
• Coordinate detector locations with 3D model team; review hazardous area classifications.
• Prepare F&G hook-up, I/O lists, P&IDs, and system schematics.
• Review vendor documents for F&G systems and coordinate interfaces with DCS/ESD/PLC/HVAC/Deluge/Fire Alarm systems.
• Design and review Deluge, Water Spray, Fire Water, Hydrant, Hose Reel, Foam systems and firefighting layouts; hydraulic calculations.
• Prepare Inergen/Clean Agent system layouts; calculate agent quantities; review enclosure protection; coordinate shutdown/release logic and HVAC shutdowns.
• Participate in HAZID/HAZOP/SIL safety reviews; support FAT/SAT; vendor meetings and design reviews.
